Death Valley Resurveys

During Spring break, AGS and four students (Eric Cline, Jeff Marsh, Brett Wanner, David Zell) returned to Death Valley to resurvey the leveling arrays there that were last surveyed in December 1990 by Gerald Bawden, Laura Mitchell, Brian Steele, Scott Sitzman, and Brian Lockhert. The weather was splendid and probably was the reason that the closures were some of the best we've obtained in any of the surveys. We were able to survey two lines a day in 80° temperature, and it was overcast almost all day for the surveys of the two longest lines - Village and Old Ghost. We drove up the length of the valley, into Eureka Valley, through Cucumongo Canyon, and into Fish Lake Valley to do the Fish Lake Valley array in the wind and cold - but it was sunny. It was nice and calm for the Hanaupah and Triangle Spring surveys. Have a look at the results by clicking on each of the array names in this paragraph. Use your BACK button to return to this page.
